i used to play marbles for money,and used to climb trees to get conkers then took em home,bit like pets i spose,soak them in vinegar makes them rock hard,then i challenged them heres how it went
him”fancy a game of conkers mate i got an eighteener””
me “go on then”him “whats yours”?,its a virgin mate never been used anyway i smashed his conker to bits
moving on did become an expert at climbing trees but im still disgusted i used to collect birds eggs,we called it nesting,i once saw a kid blow a straw upa frogs arrse and it exploded,im not into animal cruelty,,,oh yeh i watched that queen thing on netflix tother night you know when she saw that stag?
oh fck i forgot you never heard the word banned or gagged either

depends on year. as a kid wandered streets .played with marbles ( yes i know ..i’ve lost mine) .cycled a lot. went swimming and the cinema when I had couple of shillings to spare. Later got my first Honda 90 ( now worth a fortune if I had just put it in a shed) and then got my first car ( Morris 1100) . went to disco’s . work etc as you tend to do and got through a few cars and sadly not a few girlfriends as I was both very shy and wore glasses which were a huge turn off for them I found.
apart from not learning to play any musical instrument or pass any exams ..( I admit being thick) I did get a break and did an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering . rest of life was just work .work oh and more work .

Oh the good ole days of childhood I cant resist a chin wag over that
Well other than playing all day at street football and hanging over the dump (local building site)
Other outdoor activities involved playing bull dog and tin can alley as well as making rockets out of Matches and tin foil. I do remember the swan vestas used to explode and make a bang like the firework crackers. The safety matches would fly about 20-30feet leaving a great vapour trail of smoke behind them such great fun for a 10 year old.
Talking of matches I was very keen on soldiers and my Dad hand made me a matchstick gun that fired used matches about 20 feet and I used to use my soldiers as target practice. I would pay anything to have that matchstick gun back today how we realise how important things are far too late in life.
The self entertainment has gone now we all need devices to create the entertainment for us now the digital world and internet is here
