I dont suppose many of the newer members will remember a chatter called Poet, we first met on the internet, in 2003 and chatted for a while before finally arranging a meeting, we got on like a house on fire and as they say things went from there.

Now at the end of 2017 it is time to say a final goodbye, I am sorry to say that after being together for 14 years Poet passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in the early hours of 21st December.

Goodbye my love I will miss you forever, I will always remember your cheeky grin, your lovely personality and most of all the sweet kind person that you were.

I hope you will all understand if I am not online for a few weeks/months, (I will make alternative arrangements for the quiz) but I am sat here on Christmas Day breaking my heart, and remembering all the good times we had together.

Stay safe Poet and wait for me, we will be together again one day.

As you know Gill I was so sorry to hear of Poet’s passing. I used to love his quick wit and intelligence in the quiz all those years ago.

I’m thinking of you today and will speak to you again soon.

oh dear, My Darling Gd, as you know I knew poet and you too.Always got on with him and he grabbed me for his team :) A nice, genuine, quiet fella. Who was saddened by your own Mothers loss too.
I am actually kinda stuck for words here, what a shocker. And the pearls of Wisdom are not flowing easy. Suffice to say, remember the good times and don’t be scared to laugh along with the funny memories you no doubt have.
I shall not offer you any Salutations of the Season, as it probably the last thing you are thinking of right now. But please be aware.. I am thinking of you right now, and indeed the great man, that was, and will forever be..Poet.

I have fond memories of Poet, he was witty and intelligent :)

I was shocked and sadened when you told us of his passing GD, especially at this time of year.

I just want to thank you GD for all the hard work you’ve put into the quizes over the years, you are fair, entertaining and clever.
