Well, well, what’s the world coming to??
I think it’s time for the Christian Anti-Sex League to be put in charge of our moral legislation.
Women have long had to put up with hand-wanderers and suggestive jokes and comments. Fallon touched one reporter’s knee and was told that if he did it one more time she would punch him in the face. haha. Good for her. She stressed it wasn’t sexual harassment, whihc she thought was a more serious affair.
How wrong she was!!
Any guy caught winking at a gal, sorry woman, from now on had bette have the name of a good defence lawyer ready to hand.

2 November, 2017 at 11:31 am #1077642To be honest………one can think what one likes but i am sure women have a right to say who touches them or not under any circumstance.
2 November, 2017 at 11:36 am #1077645Absolutely, Mister q.
If you read my post carefully, I congratulated the reporter who told Fallon where to get off.
But there are offences and offences. Men like women, and women have learned to handle it (forgive pun) when it goes over a line.
mind you, if we are going to get very litigious, then it’s not just women who get offended. Deaf and autistic people are at a severe level of suffering. There are non-sexual offences against them. A lot of people suffer low levels of abuse quietly.
But there’s abuse and abuse. Let’s not get a lynchmob atmosphere.

Absolutely. Why is it some men, still assume they can grope women inappropriately as and when they choose and of course if they are groping one woman, then you can be certain that they are groping others as well.
As to Fallon, he didn’t resign because he groped a knee, repeatedly, he resigned allegedly because he has past form of other inappropriate behavior that would have seen him fail security clearance for the Ministry of Defense. Whether that information comes to light remains to be seen, it could well topple the government if the allegations against up to 40 tory MPs is accurate.

2 November, 2017 at 1:07 pm #1077653“Fallon had admitted making a clumsy pass at the journalist Julia Hartley-Brewer more than a decade ago, repeatedly placing his hand on her knee. Hartley-Brewer insists she was not distressed; but rumours of other, similar incidents involving female journalists have been swirling around. On a separate occasion, he was accused of calling another journalist, Bryony Gordon, a “slut”.
…As fresh allegations emerge, May is likely to come under increasing pressure to get out ahead of the crisis, and respond to the calls of Ruth Davidson, the Scottish Conservative leader, and queen across the border for liberal Tories, to “clear out the stables”.
It’s going to be interesting.

3 November, 2017 at 10:37 am #1077730Fallon’s resignation seems to be the most bizarre in the history of the universe. The comments are those of the reporter whose knee he touched.
From what I gather, he is not a sexual predator, like some of them. He’s apparently the office wolf, the pest you watch out for. A lot of guys used to do that.
If you want to define it as inappropriate behaviour which justifies a sacking from now on, then fair enough. but this type of retrospective punishment for minor indiscretions is one of the worst reasons for getting rid of him.
He apparently made lewd comments to Andrea Ledsom (he denies this, and I wouldn’t trust either of them).
If he did, she deserved them! What a cow!!
3 November, 2017 at 10:28 pm #1077769It’s a tool of political power.
Fallon upset someone that he shouldn’t have, this is the easist way to punish him. Not many people will question it, or defend him against such accusations, it is social suicide to do so.

Of course it is, according to progressives.
They have set themselves up as the ‘anti-sexist’ group in society.
The ‘sexists’ must be removed from power, who better to replace them than people who are ‘anti-sexist’.
He apparently made lewd comments to Andrea Ledsom
That doesn’t seem very belivable to me.
