I remember seeing an albino peacock once and it was simply beautiful (even though it didn’t fan its tail feathers)

talking of peacocks reminds me of that greek myth about Argus, the hundred-eyed monster who was the faithful servant of Hera, queen of the gods. One day Hera sent Argus to spy on her husband, Zeus. when Zeus found Argus spying on him he killed him. Mourning the loss of her faithful companion Hera took Argus’s eyes and placed them in the tail of a peacock, and from that day adopted it as her sacred creature.

is that why they say peacock feathers are unlucky?

might be, I didn’t even know they were unlucky (carefully removes peacock feathered headress and puts its on the floor slowly)
