It was said on the radio that such people are “lower class”, you never see a middle or upper class person doing this.
But many lower class people wouldn’t either.
I reckon it’s more a case of low esteem – they don’t care what other people think, they think society has given them a poor deal , no-one cares for them so why should they care, life hard enough without having to carry your litter to the nearest bin.For some it’s a sign that you are “hard” & to be respected.
11 June, 2008 at 11:17 am #345232I think they just got no respect hang em i say

.I think the radio is wrong there, I would think people of all classes probably drop litter. People would do well to remember that ‘class’ is usually determined on your income or where you live, and not by you’re manners.
i agree and some of the so called upper class are among the more ill mannered going
11 June, 2008 at 10:00 pm #345235You know I so nearly deleted this thread. I totally misread the title …. but once I realised that the last word was “walk” I calmed down.

11 June, 2008 at 10:38 pm #345237Tell me about it!
3 lads walking up the road where my mother lives threw the chip carton and chips all over the floor, I got out the car and gave them a right rollocking, they just told me to fuck off, I was fuming, I hate it, my kids would never throw rubbish, they’d get a hiding
12 June, 2008 at 5:05 am #345238It must be a lower class thing. I mean I’ve never seen the Queen drop litter, probably because she has servants to throw her late night KFC wrappings all over peckham on a saturday night.
It’s a hard one to call – what else did they say on the radio ?
