ok, it starts here, rules are as simple as Icould make them, if you struggling it will all come apperent, the main thing for you to do, is pick a team of 11 players that you think will shine at Euro 2008
You pick your formation,
please take into account the following
you must pick 1 goalkeeper only
you must pick between 3 to 5 defensive players
you must pick between 3 to 6 midfield players
you must pick between 1 to 3 attacking players(adding to of course 11 players)
the reason for this is because attacking players tend to score the top marks during a football game, picking 11 strikers in your team would give you an advantage, defenders are often not praised enough in a football game, clearing off the line, or a last ditch tackle does’nt tend to stand out as much, as say scoring with a neat finish from 10 yards
The Rounds
The Game is split into 4 rounds
The Group Stages
you may only pick 2 players from any 1 team
1/4 Finals
you may only pick 4 players from any 1 team
Semi Finals
you may only pick 6 players from any 1 team
The Final
no restrictions, if you wish to do so, you can pick all your players from one of the teams, its your choice
Transfers
After each round you will get un limited transfers, to completly change your team, you have upto 24 hours prior to the kick of the first game in that round to make the changes, failing to do so, will result in your team being carried over, this could handicap you if your players are already on the plane home
If your player gets injured you can trasfer him at any time, A Forum will be made “Transfers” as soon as the previous round has finished
The Scoring
using the match ratings from the sky sports web site, each player gets a mark out of 10
the totals of your players are added up, and will be displayed at the end of the day when all games have been played and marked on the website, usualy within 20 mins or so after the final whistle
If your player does’nt play, you score no points
The Players
When your team is picked, post in the thread “Team Selection’s” informing of your final 11 for the round, please refrain from chat on this thread, I will then put the teams into the spreadsheet database, so no cheating can occour by use of the edit button.
I shall list the players in this thread for you to choose from along with ID numbers, when picking your team, you need to first state the formation
you then need to pick players by stating thier name and ID number, it just makes life easier for me if you state the ID number, this will come apperent on the list
