I don’t like to say this, and I’m sure I’m wrong, but we may be about to see a nuclear war break out pretty soon over Korea. – it could be in the next few days.
The fact is that Trump’s Mother-of-all-Bombs has just been used as an experiment on ISIS in Afghanistan, and he may be about to plaster North Korea with them – or rather use them on where he thinks NKorea’s nuclear rocket sites are.
He cannot let NKorea develop the capacity to hit California with a nuclear missile, and they will soon be able to do so.
I remember the Cuban missile crisis – I was 12, and everybody was genuinely scared for up to two weeks. I mean really scared – i remember it. That was on the same issue – the USSR was developing nuclear weapon sites in Cuba which could hit the USA within a very short time.
If he doesn’t succeed in taking all the nuclear sites out, then there could be nuclear warfare for the first time since Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I don’t think Trump will retaliate with nuclear weapons, but he will hit NKorea bigtime, and there will likely be a collapse of the Beloved leader, or whatever he calls himself.
I hope I’ll be called a scaremonger within a couple of weeks, or less, But I’ve never known anything as close since Cuba back in 1962.

14 April, 2017 at 8:38 pm #1035104It’s looking very serious if you read reports.
How far are these leaders prepared to go?1 member liked this post.

Scary stuff this is looking like turning into. Hope to god it does all kick off but … he pushed the button !!
14 April, 2017 at 9:09 pm #1035121You really are a doom and gloom merchant scep, first the Brexit drama, now this.
There’ll be no nuclear war, the “Beloved leaders” ego wouldn’t be able to handle the battering he knows full well they would get from the Yanks. He’s a wannabe keyboard warrior but without the intelligence to turn a laptop on.
14 April, 2017 at 9:26 pm #1035124I agree with sceptical, we’re dealing with volatile personalities in trump and kim jong that is unprecedented when relating to being in charge of nuclear weapons adapting to 2017 technology capable of wiping out millions. It all depends on just how technologically advanced these “impoverished ” nations like north korea are and whether Korea for eg has the ability to deliver nuclear warheads to the American west coast. It looks a disaster waiting to happen..

Have you read what Putin has been saying in recent days about the Americans act of ” aggression “

I very much hope you’re right.
Saddam used to threaten the mother of all battles, but he ended up in a hole wiht a gascooker linked in to f3 chatroom pretending to be a woman.
On the other hand, kim what’s his name does take pride in the fact that his grandfather, kim what’s his name senior, was in hiding in caves when the Japanese were occupying the country.
My hope is that within the next few days/weeks, you’ll be laughing at me as a scaremonger, and I’ll happily take it.

drac, in one way you’re stating the obvious. We’d all be crapping ourselves into hospital if this were Russia squaring off. It’s not at all like the Cuban crisis.
But – 1) it’s similar in that the taboo on nuclear weapons could be about to break. That will feel like a different world. There will be major casualties if war goes ahead. China won’t retaliate – Trump is keeping in close touch with them, I think – but they are worried about a mass refugee flow into their country if the NKorean regime breaks, and they’re worried about their border.
2) Russia and the US back in ’62 had leaders like Khruschev and Kennedy who were prepared to go to the brink of a nuclear war and then pull back. Even so it was very hair-raising. Bobby Kennedy, who was on the “War” Council then, wrote of how he wondered whether he would see his children ever again.
I’m not so sure Kim what’s his name is like that. He’s just killed his own brother, who had already been made a taboo man for wanting to go to Disneyland (fair enough, you may think). If he blinks at the last minute, then I will breathe a sigh of relief, but do you think he will??? I’m not as sure as Reason.
Trump is not likely to use nuclear weapons unless he has to. But there is a psychological breakthrough for us all, even if Fatboy Kim uses them unilaterally.
The world is becoming a much more scary place.
