you know its bad when hosts let the idiot clones in
8 November, 2016 at 9:21 pm #1007703One of the founding principles of Just Chat is allowing people to use the chat rooms without registering. Therefore, if a chat name isn’t password protected through VIP membership, any chat name can be used by any one.
We have polled members and visitors about changing this to require all users to register in order to chat (the only way to prevent chat names being used by others) but the results are always OVERWHELMINGLY in favour of not forcing registration in order to chat.
Therefore, chat names are not protected for visitors and chatters unless they have upgraded to VIP membership (which is optional).
8 November, 2016 at 9:26 pm #1007708if you didnt charge for registration then everyone here who is genuine chatters would register and those that dont should have an option to just be a guest with a number after their name because otherwise the site cant grow within and people cant become friends or be sociable so then its going against the reason it is actually here because isnt this a social networking site not an anti social networking site?
8 November, 2016 at 11:38 pm #1007734As mentioned before, we’ve asked members if they want to see access to the chat rooms require registration. They didn’t want it. They clearly stated their desire to be able to choose the name of their choice without being forced to register and be limited to one chat name in perpetuity.
I see you started a feedback poll. That’s constructive. I’m happy to revisit this concept if enough people support such a major change to how the site works.
8 November, 2016 at 11:55 pm #1007746Jack dear heart …. this is not a social networking site. It’s a chatroom with a message board in it’s basic terms.
Fact the trolls register as many times & email addies as they require to be a bloody pain. Most use proxy IP’s which are nar on impossible to keep out.
There is no easy answer to this except use your iggy button in the chatroom.
The boards are different as site admin you get to know the form for fakes but at the end of the day admin staff aren’t sat here 24/7 … they have real lives & family & work commitments in the real world.
C’est la vie
9 November, 2016 at 1:47 am #1007763haha i know they have real lifes im not disputing this i just think they should drop the registration fee because then they could stop the cloning and sort out alot of problems with idiots
31 December, 2016 at 9:39 pm #1012658Maybe the way to look at this is…..if they’re doing their best to annoy others online they’re not annoying people in the street. We have an ‘off’ button
1 January, 2017 at 11:37 pm #1012720Foring people to register wouldn’t stop people from being able to clone your name, at least how it works now.
2 January, 2017 at 12:00 am #1012722This debate has gone on for years here & it’s fact people don’t want to pay … me included. I used to be registered when it was a one off nominal charge years ago but this £4.99 a month lark …. nah.
If someone wants to clone then let them fill their boots regs can spot another reg being cloned from a mile off.
If it was free ….

So how does registration help in this case young jack & drac ?
