I start by taking a quote from another thread…apologies to Reason (sic) for using his name in vain.

    homophobes and woman-haters

Bad mixture, they must be right w@nkers, literally

    unfiortunately, not.

“Women – can’t live with em, can’t live without em” is their usual response. Do the naughties with them, get fed and your clothes washed, then down to the pub with the lads or watch the foote on the telly with a six-pack by your side and chat to the lads about it on f3.

The French have always noted the peculiarities of the English male towards women and put it down to Englishmen being reoressed, maybe closet gays.

Hmm..maybe. A generalisation, of course, but English culture is a generalisation.

    What do people think?

Are you saying, English men like to maintain their masculine dignity? so avoids the humiliation of a verbal rejection?  To help him shed his inhibitions, he tends to consume large quantities of alcohol: but this merely results in a shift from awkward reticence to crass, clumsy boorishness. From the perspective of the unfortunate English female, this isn’t much of an improvement , unless her own judgment is severely impaired, as it often is, by a similar quantity of alcohol. In which case, chat-up lines such as ‘Er, fancy a s***?’ may seem like the height of wit and eloquence. The role of alcohol in the passing on of English DNA should never be underestimated. Em I think that’s what he means Kenty haha. B-)

    haha, Sophie.

    You have an earthy wit.

No it’s not what I mean.

I’m talking about the attitude of a lot of men to women in this country. They don’t like em. They need em for various things, from bed to kitchen, but they find them hard to live with. Can you blame such men?  The women are so much cleverer, have such sharp tongues.

The men would rather settle back with a pint and talk about the footie in the pub. There, they are far from the demands of their other half.

I was asking whether that struck a chord with men and women here.

I’vve just been having a problem wiht very good friends on my Faceache about my ability to communicate. They reckon I’m on a different level, and people look at me thinking either ‘worra clever swine’ or (as with some here) ‘worra smarta rse’. *weeps

I understood Sophia’s explanation more….however now you’ve explained it Scep

i think men and women have evolved from the dark ages and basically do what they want to do…..they don’t feel pressure on singledom…..there seems to be a ascattering of children everywhere……a couple have a few kids…they split up…get together with partners who have a couple of kids then go on to have some kids together too……how on earth they affford child support is beyond me…..this isn’t unusual…..then they turn 20 and realise they need to get jobs

joking aside…..people aren’t scared to make life changing decisions and don’t put up with cr@p…..what you describe Scep I hope isn’t normal….women aren’t downtrodden nowadays
